Chhitkul is a village in Kinnaur district of Himachal Pradesh. During winters, the place mostly remains covered with the snow and the inhabitants move to lower regions of Himachal. According to a recent study by Centre of Atmospheric Sciences at IIT Delhi, Chitkul has the cleanest air in India.

Chitkul is famous for its fair called Phulaich Fair which is attended by many Hindu devotees and attending it is actually one of the best things to do in Chitkul. You can reach this temple easily by car or bus. There are other temples like Badrinarayan ji and Vishnu Narayan ji in Sangla that are famous among travelers.

Day 1 Shimla to Narkanda

Cab will pick you up from Shimla and transfer to Narkanda via Kufri and Fagu. The journey usually takes around 2 to 3 hours, subject to traffic and road conditions. Check in to your hotel and take rest.

Day 2 Narkanda to Chitkul

Early in the morning, you may visit the Hatu Peak and Hateshwari Temple (by local taxi at your own cost). After breakfast, check out the hotel and start for Chitkul via Rampur. Check in to your hotel/resort/camp in Chitkul/Rakchham.

Day 3 Chitkul to Kalpa

After breakfast, check out the hotel and start for Kalpa/Reckong Peo. Check in to your hotel/homestay. Embark on a captivating journey through the scenic wonders of Kalpa. Day 4 Full Day Kalpa Sightseeing

Day 5 Kalpa to Shimla Drop (220 km)

After breakfast, check out the hotel and start for Shimla via Narkanda. Cab will drop you at Shimla bus stand or Shimla railway station or your hotel. You may either take overnight bus for your hometown or stay at Shimla.
